How to fix your
computer if your computer was infected Spyware?
- Install Anti-Spyware
(or download
trail or beta Anti-Spyware from our tech support -> tool section)
- Scan your computer in
“full scan mode”.
- Remove the Spyware
- Reboot your computer
- Scan your computer
again
Is your computer clean at
this point? If not, try the following.
- Right click on the bug
one by one, write down the full path such as
c:\Windows\System32\vx3x.nls
- Manually delete that
file
- If you can’t find the
file, it might be on a hidden folder. You need to unhide the
folder first before you can delete it.
- Open “My Document”
folder, click “tools”, click “Folder Options”, click “View”
Under hidden files and folders” Do the followings.
- Check “Show hidden
files and folders”
- Uncheck “Hide
extension for known file type”
- Uncheck “Hide
protected operating system files”
- Now, you can see some
files and folders that are invisible before. You should be able
to find the files that you want to delete.
- If you still can’t
delete, it means the file was a “read only” file. You need to
change it.
- Right click on the file
that you want to delete, click “Properties”, uncheck “Read Only”
- You should be able to
delete the file.
- After you delete the
files, you need to empty your “Recycle Bin” because they are
still on your computer until you empty your recycle bin.
- If you still
can't delete this file, it means this file is running or
executing. You need to logon Windows under safe mode.
- Reboot your
computer when you first see the display press F8 couple times.
You will see a menu instead of Windows XP logo. Pick "Safe mode"
and hit enter.
- When your
computer enter safe mode, you can then try to delete the file
again.
- Run the Anti
Spyware software again to make sure your computer is clean.
- Once your
computer is clean, power off your computer
(do not just reboot).
